At European level, to date and to the best of our knowledge, only three countries have enacted laws to punish abuse of the state of weakness.

• France with the About-Picard (2001) law
• Belgium (2012) with the Law of 26 November 2011, enacted January 23, 2012
• Luxembourg (2012) with a law enacted  on the 21st of February 2013
